Will try to update with better (sharper) images later on today :)

Shy wednesday

If you thought that yesterdays make up was modest, then that was nothing compared to todays make up! Today is as modest as I think I can get. Will compensate tomorrow by looking somewhat like a clown.
Actually it's because I didn't sleep at home today as planned, so I didn't have access to my humongous stash of eye shadows ;P

I'm so happy today, because my skin's getting so much better. I didn't post any pics of me while it was at the worst. I do use prescribed skin creams against acne. Because let's face it: noone who's out of their teenage years should have acne. It's not normal. Not even when you are a teenager it should be this much of a problem. Anyone who thinks they have a lot of acne, pay a visit to your doctor (preferrably a specialist om skin and acne) and talk to them about it.
Back to me! :P Since I changed my loose mineral foundation to MAC studio sculpt my acne has been getting a lot better. Sanna thought it might be because my mineral foundation contained bismuth, but it doesn't. My guess is that it made my skin too dry, and because of the dryness my skin got irritated. Because during the hot, humid and sweaty summer months my loose mineral foundation is king.

What do you think of having the full face shots as smaller, klickable images?
Does it speed up the loading time of the blog? Or is it simply iritating having to klick on each one of them?

Oh yeah...

That's right. I told you that I was at the MAC counter today... again :P
Well I just had to ogle a bit on the Creme team-collection. Erika bought the "Lickable" lipstick, and I'm tempted to but it too. That one, and I think it was "Crosswires" that I liked most.
I also looked for prep+prime for Puritys sake, but they were out of it again. But I did find some darlings for myself... he he.
Studio sculpt foundation in NC15 and the Mineralize skinfinish in "light". That's a pressed powder, for those of you who aren't MACoholists.
Speaking of MACoholists... I'm beginning to feel it!
I've already praised the Studio sculpt foundation in this entry but I missed mentioning another good thing about this foundation... no more pumps!
The pumps to other foundations costs extra, but with this really smart tube packaging, you don't need to pay a little extra for convenience.

Orange and red

This FOTD is inspired by a t-shirt I got. Actually, it's one of my favourite tees!
It's bright orange, with a print in black and red of some tree or bush and a peacock sitting in it. I think it's supposed to be a cherry tree in blossom, the flowers are red, and the peackock is black with silver glittering dots on. And there's some asian signs on. I can't tell you what kind or what they mean (probably something like "noodles with this and that seasoning only $1.99) but I love this t-shirt! The colours are so bold and in your face, but the print is soft and harmonious.
Anyhow! I was thinking how to do a make up for this. I was to hold a lecture today and I didn't feel that red lips would be suitable for that lecture... and I didn't want to go too soft on the make up either. I've done a yellow/orange make up like this but it didn't feel right!
So what did I do? I started with a base of UDPP över the whole lid and up to the brow. From the crease and up I did MAC "shroom" as a highlighter and then MAD minerals orange pigment "trust fund" on the lid. Then under the eye as well. It didn't feel good, so I was just about to put some MAC "platinum" when I changed my mind and ran to get the MAC "basic red" pigment instead. And I'm happy I did!
Probably would siut better with red lips... or would that be too much? I is fancy friday today... but still?
Share your thoughts with me!

Explanation: Was at the MAC counter trying out lipsticks from Dame Edna and Creme team-collections. Kanga rouge stained my lips in a vivid pinkish red that didn't really want to give in to the wipes. Well well! :P

Another grimed green make up

Sara who runs Ninja Minerals gave me a free sample of a gold pigment she's working on, for me to try out. I love the colour, the texture and how easy it is to work with. If you've ever tried the MAC pigment "teal" or TMM pigment "centaur" then you know how easy they are to apply. This golden shade is just as easy to work with.
It's a red toned gold, something I'm not used to. I buy golden, grimed, greenish or brownish goldes. So this was a great addition to my range of goldes! I bet this colour will look great with TMM pigment "centaur" and "occult". Will try that c

This is two different Depent nail polishes, with a top coat also from Depend.
The colours are no.119  for the gray one and no.132 for the blue.

Daylight, no flash and daylight with flash.

Today I tried out the new MAC foundation, studio sculpt in NC20, and thought I'd share my opinion of it. I applied the foundation on top of MAC prep+prime face with clean fingers. What struck me was the lightness and easiness of the foundation. Also, being so light on the skin, and still giving great coverage!
The studio fix fluid is so heavy and thick and dries so fast that I have a hard time applying it fast enough. But studio sculpt is easy and light. I'm having so much trouble with my skin that I was hesitant if I'd dare to even try it... But I'm sure glad I did! I don't have any good loose powder so I fixed the foundation with my regylar foundation, which is a loose powder mineral foundation from MAD minerals. Applied with the MAC 182 kabuki brush my make up suddenly felt quite heavy and I wished for a MAC mineralize skinfinish powder and a real powder brush.
The NC20 is too dark for me, as I have the typical pale-as-hell scandinavian skin tone, so tomorrow I'll try out NW15 and see if it looks any better. My friend Erika tried out NW15, and it looked great on her (she's even paler than me) even though she thought it didn't cover quite as well as she'd liked the feeling she agreed was great and light. With some concealer she'd love it too.

The MAC foundations are expensive, but the feeling of this one is great and well worth buying. I strongly recommend this foundation! If you're insecure, go to your nearest MAC counter and try it on your skin. It's well worth it, hunting for that perfect foundation isn't easy!

PS. here's an extra shoot of me and the mini-monster that lives with us in the collective!

The shopping...

Ok, so I left you with quite the cliff hanger this morning, showing you this picture to the right. Have any of you guessed what it is yet?
Well, this is yesterdays shopping. Remember that!
Now! I'll tell ya' what I bought!
I went to the MAC counter with my friend Erika that is visiting my collective (yes, I live in a collective and it's great!) to shop something. I had to go to town to drop of my bf's wallet. I met him in the entrance, he came out of the elevator just as I was stepping in to it! He aasked what we were doing next, and I said "we're gonna shop for some make up!" (my bf's colleague asked him later if he'd heard right, ha ha).
Anyhow, I knew I had to get SOMETHING at the counter but I didn't know what. I've been ogling
the "snowscene" lipglass online, so I simply had to try it. And boy! was I in love at first sight? Ooooh yes!
I also tried on the "spring bean" lustreglass. It looked so perfect with yesterdays make up that my heart started aching a little bit. But I wasn't set out for that, but for the "snowscene" lipglass and a make
up remover.
I've used this relly crappy one for a long time, that doesn't get the job done and that leave my skin all dry and horrid. I was indecisive for wich one to choose, but I got help from the lovely girls at the counter. I bought the green gel gleanser, and got a sample of the cremewash so that I can try that one as well. Swell!
I also got a sample of the new foundations! The ones that came with the well defined-collection, named studio sculpt. I got a sample of NC20 and NW15 colours...
But there's more!
In Sweden the Blonde Brunette Redhead-collection is released the 15:th of february, but the girl at the MAC counter let me have a sneak peek at the collection! I had to buy a lipstick immediately! Blow dry was the lucky colour that came home with me. This is my new favourite lipstick! It's the perfect shade. Not too coral-y, not too pink. It's actually a redhead lipstick, but it's gorgeous on all fair skinned ladies with fair coloured lips, I tell ya' ;D
Make sure to go get it once they release the collection. I'm already thinking of going back and getting a second one, just in case I'd use this one up...
Oh dear, the MAC counters are dangerous. In november one of my sisters went to NY and bought "parfait amour" for me, along with four other eye shadows. I actually wanted "parfait amour" in the classic eye shadow package and the other four in a palette, but there was a misunderstanding, so I got "parfat amour" in a plain pan too. Hence, I needed an empty quartet case!
The sample jars and the make up remover...
And now, I can finally show to you the lovely present that Purity sent me for my birthday! I love it, it's such a great base for shadows, making blues more vivid and brings out the lustre in other colours. Yup, I've already used it. A lot ;D

Yesterday at the MAC counter...

Yesterday I went to the MAC counter at Åhléns here in Stockholm. I went with Erika, who is visitng. I told her I was going to buy someting, I wouldn't be able to help myself so there was no need trying to, ha ha.

I actually had to go to town because my bf forgot his wallet at home. Anyhow! At the MAC counter I did some shopping... here's a teaser!

I'll show you later today what  I bought.

Birthday presents...

My birthday was the 26:th of January, and I got two extremely good presents. One (actually three) of them was gift cards for IKEA, so that I could finally buy a chest of drawers... and the other one was from Purity! It was a lovely blue MAC brushed metal x shadow!
It's great! I've not had the chance to take a picture yet, but with this new lovely in my make up collection, how could I not do make up?
Here at least is a work in progress-picture of one of my drawers. I devoted a whole drawer to make up!
To be perfectly frank, this isn't all my make up. I have some more. I'll update when I'm done. This new possibility for organizing is amazing! So much space! Hooray!
And also, when I was at IKEA I just had to buy some orchids. The greenish and red ones are new. They were so ugly and cute! Have to get a mirror so I can do my make up in my room, and some painting to set up on the wall.

How to...

This weekend was great! Why?

My skin's getting a lot better now and fast!
Erika visited for a whole week!
I went clubbing and had a grat time
I went to IKEA (again, was there like tw weeks ago) and bought a Malm chest of 6 drawers in oak veneer.

This isn't a interior design blog, but my mood is on top and I just have to share the beauty of my room to you.
But that's for later, now I'm doing work shadowing. I long to get home!
I haven't finished organizing or re-decorating at home, yet!
