I'm still alive!
I'm sorry for not updating. I've been busy with holiday related events... but I'm sure you have too!
The blog'll start to live for real after new years eve. I hope to get some FOTDs posted before that though.
New header
Today I've had a quick look at the blog code. I'm trying to learn code. I'm not learning very fast! Anyhow, today I made a new header, instead of that boring old text I had before, which was a preset.
How do you like the header? Any ideas of improvement?
Ah, hell! Now it doesn't seem to work anymore. I'm off to bed, and I'll have a new look at it ome other day. Tomorrow is christmas!
Christmas themed make up, part 5
Today was supposed to be gold and blue, but I didn't feel like blue at all, so I changed it to black, gold and rust! Felt very warm and cozy, I really really like this make up. Have to remember to do it again some day... soon.
In this FOTD I used:
Face:
MAC prep+prime skin
MAD Minerals mineral foundation, farily light and fair mixed 50/50
MAD Minerals pigment "ruffles" as shading
MAD Minerals powder "satin glow" as highlighter
Eyes:
Urban Decay Primer Potion
MUS eye shadow "jubilee"
TMM pigment "occult"
MAC pigment "gold"
MAD Minerals pigment "24k gold"
MAC plushlash mascara
MAC shadestick "sharkskin"
IsaDora liquid eyeliner
Lips:
MAC lipgelee "moistly"

Christmas themed make up, part 4
This time the theme was silver and red. For silver I chose very pale silvery shades and white, which remind me of snow. I chose not to have the red lips, but keep a rather nude touch to the make up. Red lips would have been too obvious! Red under the eye is a favourite... or actually, using red around the eye is really cool. You have to have lot, otherwise you just look swollen like one'd have cried. Also red eye shadow make blue eyes pop... and make the red blood veins in your eyes magically disappear!
In this FOTD I used:
Face:
MAC prep+prime skin
MAD Minerals mineral foundation, farily light and fair mixed 50/50
MAD Minerals pigment "ruffles" as shading
MAD Minerals powder "satin glow" as highlighter
MUS "mission" blush
Eyes:
Urban Decay Primer Potion
TMM pigment "pearl"
MAD Minerals pigment "whisper opal"
MAC mineralize eye shadow "family silver" darker half
MAC eye shadow "forgery"
TMM pigment "ruby"
MAC plushlash mascara
MAC shadestick "sharkskin"
IsaDora liquid eyeliner
Lips:
MAC lipgelee "moistly"

A new theme...
Since I did a pink make up today I had to g through all my eye shadows to first:
find all the pink ones and then decide wich ones to use. When I went through
my eye shadows I had to pile them according to colour... and then a thought cameup
in my mind.
The colours are:
Why don't I do a rainbow theme? Just go through all the colours that I have,
take a photo of all of them, write a short review on the brands and finally show
off a make up with that colour?
So, this is my new theme! Today I posted a pink FOTD and since I posted it, I'll
also show you all my pink colours... all the ones I could find at least.

The colours are:
1. "Paparazzi" from MAD Minerals.
This colour is a bright pink, fully loaded with bright pink glitter. It's a bit tricky to
get to stick to your skin, as all glitters are.
2. "Hot stuff" from Mad Minerals. This one is so very bright in the jar, but applies
quite sheer. If you're afraid of strong colours, don't be afraid of this one!
3. "Petal" from MAD Minerals.
This is such a pretty pink! It shimmers in purple/blue. It's really lovely, but I think
it's a bit hard to find other colours to combine.
4. "Illegal" from MAD Minerals.
This is the perfect berry colour! It apples quite sheer, but you still can tell it's
berry colour. Works great on both eyes and lips!
5. "Bebe" from TMM.
Very much like Illegal from MAD Minerals, but sticks to your skin a lot better. Warning! This pigment contains Red lake dye #7 and is not approved by the FDA for eye use. It's not considered eye safe, but this is not stated where you buy the pigment.
6. "After glow" from TMM.
Really hot hot hot pink! Orangey undertones. Glows orange in blacklight, but has a sort of raiance by itself in daylight. Warning! This pigment has no list of content. May contain unsafe lake dyes. Better not use on lips or eye area.
7. "Magenta madness" from MAC.
Looks almost identical to After glow, but completely matte and a bit trickier to apply. Not recommended for eye use.
8. "Kitty" from TMM.
Bright orangey-pink pigment. Glows orange in blacklight. Easy to apply and sticks well to skin. Warning! This pigment contains Red lake dye #22 and is not approved by the FDA for eye use. It's not considered eye safe, but this is not stated where you buy the pigment.
9. "Red electric" from MAC.
Looks a lot like Magenta madness, but more red. As you can tell by the swatch, this pigment too really glows by itself. Not recommended for eye usage.
10. "Lush" from TMM.
Totally girly pink with some glitter. Easy to apply, and both eye and lip safe.
11. "Big apple" from MAD Minerals.
Bright orange based pink. This pigment is almoste matte, and very easy to apply! You get a lot of colour immediately as the brush touches your skin. Be careful, you don't want this one to fall down because it's hard to get off!
12. "Desert rose" from MAD Minerals.
Desert rose is a glittery pink that to me feel like the ultimate work safe pink. It's pink but not too much, and not too glittery. It applies quite sheer, but still looks lovely!
Klick on the brand name and you'll be linked to the specific colour. If you want to get straight to the shops check out these links:
MAD Minerals have really big range of colours. I adore their colour range, and I think I might already own half of it. Barbi is really nice, and their customer service is great too. Shipping to Sweden has varied between 5 and 8 days for me.
About their pigments; I suggest using a really good primer (I use Urban Decay Primer Potion) and work really quick and apply the shadow while the primer is still wet. Also, dab your brush in the shadow and start to apply immediately. You get a lot of it on your cheeks, but brushing it on this way you get a more vivid colour on your eyelids.
Because, even if they are lovely in the jar, I don't think they are easy to get that vivid on the skin. a few of them are, but far from all of them. Though, they are ridicolously cheap so don¨t be afraid to try them out!
Taylor Made Minerals (TMM)
They have a nice range of colours, though their web page isn't the greatest. All of the pigments i've swatched applies real eaily and without any fuzz. They reply to emails fast, but the deliveries are very slow. A big bold minus though for them not warning that some pigments are not eye safe! If you're worried, check out this list for approved usage. Using pigments that contain unapproved pigments or dyes is at your own risk.
Fantastic pigments. Always highly pigmented, but not always ealy to apply. The matte pigments are generally harder to apply, and the more shimmer the more "creamy" and easy to apply the pigments are. Not all pigments are eye or lip safe, but there's a full list on them at MAC's web page. Just check Multi purpose -> Pigment -> View recommended usage.
Flirtatious Friday!
FOTD of today! Finally!
Today I noticed that my flowers have started to bloom! I was so happy, because they are so very very pretty. I don't remember the name of them, but they are gorgeous. The petals are white in the middle, turning to pale pink to hot pink in the edges. I let these lovelies inspire todays make up.
The inspiration:

Face:
MAC prep+prime skin
MAD Minerals mineral foundation, farily light and fair mixed 50/50
MAD Minerals pigment "ruffles" as shading
MAD Minerals powder "satin glow" as highlighter
Eyes:
Urban Decay Primer Potion
MAD Minerals pigment "paparazzi"
MAD Minerals pigment "hot stuff"
TMM pigment "pearl"
MUS twinkle eye shadow "angel"
MAC plushlash mascara
Lips:
Lancôme juicy tubes "violet"

Christmas themed make up, part 3
Since I haven't been able to upload any pictures I'll give you a massive FOTD update today!

Third FOTD for the day is the third part in my christmas theme! This time the colour theme was white and gold. White for the snow, gold for the warmth that the White Witch does not posess. It turned out a bit smokey, beause I didn't want any sharp lines from a liquid eyeliner. That makes the make up perfet for a whole day. Not too dark for daytime, not too bright for the night.
I just used MAC's lipgelee "moistly" on the lips. But then I dabbed on a little of the TMM glitter "cairo" and some more of the TMM glitter "chintzy" for a more glamorous winter holiday look. I also used the glitter "chintzy" along the lashline, on the inne half of the lid. On the outer I had MAC's "carbon" for that smudgey look.
The white shadow on the inner half of the lid was mixed with a golden one, and was very white with gold reflects, but in the pictures it looks very nude. Probably would look a lot better on someone with a darker complexion!
In this FOTD I used:
Face:
MAC prep+prime skin
MAD Minerals mineral foundation, farily light and fair mixed 50/50
MAD Minerals pigment "ruffles" as shading
MAD Minerals powder "satin glow" mixed with MAD Minerals pigment "24k gold" as highlighter
Eyes:
Urban Decay Primer Potion
TMM pigment "pearl"
MAD Minerals pigment "24k gold"
MAC pigment "gold"
MAC eye shadow "carbon"
Urban Decay Eye Shadow Transforming Potion
TMM glitter "cairo"
MAC plushlash mascara
Lips:
MAC lipgelee "moistly" mixed with TMM golden glitters "chintzy" and "cairo"

Klick on the small images for a larger version!
Tomorro I will present the next christmas themed look. The colours I'm going to use is silver and red.
Anyone else up for the challenge? ;D
Quiet Thursday
Since I haven't been able to upload any pictures I'll give you a massive FOTD update today!

Second FOTD is from Thursday. It's the same products used as in Wednesdays make up, but this time applied in a different way. Don't know what's up with me, doing all these desaturated make ups. I, me, who loves colour?
Must be the winter... it's not nice, living in Mordor.
Also, because of living in Mordor my skin is freaking out and you don't want to know what my face is up to. Thank god for this forgiving camera!
In this FOTD I used:

The capital A, A as in "Angst"
I have a confession to make: I really, really, really hate Make Up Stores web page. It's a disaster! They dont display photos of all the products, they don't show any of the fantastic inspirational images that you find in their magazine (a few are browsed at random when you go for products but you can't actually search for them)... but the main reason todayy is that they don't show their christmas collection online!

You can't view the products, how crappy isn't that?
Why, it makes me sad and disappointed because I went to the newly opened Make Up Store in Nacka Forum today, and they had the most fantastagorgeous glitter eye liner I have ever seen. It was black glitter, quite big flakes of glitter, and then hidden among the black was red glitter. Oh my, it was so pretty my heart aches for it!
But I am totally broke, and haven't bought any christmas presents yet. My "salary" comes the 23rd, and here in Sweden we celebrate christmas the 24th... you see the problem?
Anyhow, this lovely little glitter eye liner is so on my wishlist now!
It is from the collection Ruby Red Love (total ripoff on the Red she said-theme from MAC I'd say) and this is the embarrassing promo-picture:

Disappearing days...
Yesterday I din't really have time to write anything. I honestly don't know where that day went! Well, actually I do. First I went to school where I spent the day rehearsing the presentations (that we did today). After that I went to Björn, fell asleep for half an hour before we ate and ran of to the Mirrors edge release party. It was really nice! But me and Björn have recently got well after our illness, so we decided not to push our limits this time and went home early. Jocke and Sofia made us company to the metro, but there we parted. Sofia noticed me being remarkably dressed down (I love dressing up for parties) but I didn't have anything fancy with me as deciding to go to the party was quite spontanous.
However! Today I was supposed to reveall my third act in the christmas themeed make up. Unfortunately I haven't been able to upload any pictures today, so you'll just have to hold on until tomorrow. Then I'll have no less than four FOTD's to show you guys!
What a day it'll be!
The jars are here!
Now my sample jars have arrived! Finally! So now the MAC pigment samples are up for sale. If you've forgotten what colours I have, check out this entry!

Just leave a comment, don't forget your email address so that I can contact you.

I'm still ill, but not letting down on my promise to you: today I reveal to you the second christmas themed make up! Today's theme was gold and red. I chose a more discreet make up, to inspire those of you who aren't as bold as you'd wish when it comes to make up ;D

Monday FOTD
I've been home all day because I'm ill. Tried to cheer myself up by doing a neutral but uplifting make up. Sadly I just felt that I looked even more ill after the make up. That's why I look so grumpy in the pictures, just so you know :P

Well, well, what do you do?

Review: MAC lipgelee
So far I've actually only tried one of MAC's lipgelees. why havn't I tried out more of them? This is because I'm so happy with the one I got, that there' no real need for any other lip product in my handbag!

The only lipgelee I've got is "moistly". In the tube it's really dark and rich purplish/raspberry red. I have a friend who's been looking for the perfect berry coloured lippie for such a long time, and I think I found it at my first try.
Why do I love it so much? And why haven't I bought another one?
First of all the colour. When you apply Moistly in a thin coat you get the feeling of a lip balm, a natural shine, and it's the colour of your lips (but slightly improved). The more you apply, the more berrycoloured your lips get. Still they never get as dark as it is in the tube, and that a plus. The more you apply the shinier you lips get.
I think that MAC product image shows the colour effect very well:

MAC lipgelee are soothing and moisturizing like a lip alm, but shiny like a lipgloss. The texture is smooth and comfortable. It doesn't rund down your chin when you get warm. It simply stays put!
Another plus is the taste and smell! Just a hint of vanilla, sweet but not disturbing.
Two pics of a very thin coat:

So why haven't I bought another lipgelee? Simply because I find that Moistly is the perfect allround colour. A thin coat works on every occation! A thicker one works with almost anything.
It also works great with lipsticks. I have a matte red listick from Make Up Store, "China red", and it's slightly too light. A thick coat of Moistly on top, then I suddenly have te perfect red, and also shiny red lips!
This is a great lippie product. Every girl should own a lipgelee.
Just make sure it's Moistly you buy! ;)
MAC lipgelee Moistly scores 5/5!
Take a chance!

Beauty kit (for little girls)
This monday we had a fantastic lecture wit Liz Sivell from Profero London. She really inspired me a lot, not only with the cool stuff she showed but what she spoke of and the energy that she's got!
I want to be like that; fun, smiling and always cheering everyone up. I'm not there yet! Got the feedback from Martin today that my mood really affect the group, but in both ways. He felt that a more professional approach is one where you take the good with the bad and keep up your spirits even if you're actually a bit low or losing interest in the project.
That's probably my biggest flaw, but I'm so relieved that he discovered it and that he told me. Now that I am aware of it, I can work with it!
Now I'm really getting off subject, even though personal development is a favourite topic of mine, what I really wanted to talk about is "physical development". Or maybe the direction in which our community are thinking when it comes to appearance and plastic surgery.
The swedish fashion magazine Dorian, for (gay) men, recently published an issue where the major topic is plastic surgery. But they didn't stop there, but the whole editorial staff actually went through some kind of plastic surgery together. If they're going to write about it, shouldn't they do it?
The fact is so right but so politically incorrect. It is taboo to go through plastic surgery that shows. It means you're old and have to do something drastic about it. That you have bad genes. In sweden plastic surgery should be performed in a way that others shouldn't be able to tell that you've done it.
Actually I don't mind that last bit. To me it's like make up, but permanent. Just touching up on what nature and DNA gave you. But I do mind when people start changing their whole appearance, or when surgery is done because of bad self esteem.
Now, that was a hypocritic statement. I do fantasize about plastic surgery some times! And because of the wrong reasons. Why is that? I ask myself every time. And do I really want to go through all that? Pay all that money? The answer is still "no". But for many others the answer is yes.
When the rules of appearance change in society, will the younger generations say yes much easier? They'll be used to see unnaturally beautiful and perfect bodies. The 21:st century is very very egoistic. All we think about is ourselves and how to make us (me) feel better.
Do we truly feel better about ourselves after surgery? After make up? After a work out? After having raised our children in a society where the only message communicated is "you are the only thing that is important". What view will the following generations have on natural beauty?
Pleix is a community of digital artists, who did this spoof ad:
It got a lot of attention last year. But I think everyone could use the reminder this video gives. If you haven't seen it before, what do you think about it? Share your thoughts! Even if you have seen it before, I'm really interested in your opinion.
If you want to read more about the topic, and something that is more consequent, I strongly recommend Rocketqueens blog.
PS. I'm sorry for not updating the FOTD, but I couldn't find the camera. Instead I will re-make it this weekend.
The royal gold and blue
Today my makeup is blue and gold. How royal!
This pic isn't great, I know! Took it with the web cam since I was so impatient to show off. I will retake the picture when I get home. But then my make up will be at least 13 hours old, so I hope you'll excuse that!

MAD Minerals pigment "ruffles" as shadeing

How about a ninja loot bag for christmas?
Finally Sara's own make up line is up and running! She's even got a limited edition christmas offer:

I'd love to get my hands on one of those, but I can't spend money on christmas presents for myself. I focus on my family and friends. Actually I've found a small and funn present får Jill already, and a FANTASTIC one for Nea.
Since I won't buy it, and there's only seven(!) of the loot bags, hurry hurry to Ninja minerals blog and make sure to get one for yourself! Or as a christmas present...
Also, make sure to bookmark that page, because that's where you'll see all the updates. Yum yum!Keeping track of this blog
I know it's hard to remember to check my blog, just as Adeline commented, if it's not listed with the others at bloglovin'.
Unfortunately they don't reply to my emails so sadly I don't know what to do about it.
Until the problm is fixed you'll just hve to try to remember manually! ;D
In need of inspiration?
One of my friends has a fantastic beuty blog, and I've linked you there so many times before.
No-one has missed her Harry Potter-themed FOTDs, right?
If you did, you can watch them here.
You can always trust Purity for inspiration. Today she started a new make up theme: Disney princesses! First out was Ariel, the little mermaid. I wonder which one comes next...
Check out the Ariel make up here!

Home again
Last week I went on the Das Boot 23hour-cruise. It was so much fun! Unfortunatley not enough black lights to show off how cool my make up really was... and neither did I have a camera with me soooo... I'll just do it again some time to show you. At least I think it was really cool! Though almost impossible to wash off! Urban Decays primer potion + Stargazer eye shadow was a nightmare of endless scrubbing the eyes.
Oh, another fun thing was that several on the boat called me Carolina Klüft. The swedish athlete, if anyone knows..?
The rest of the weekend was just as fun, with a Glögg-party on Saturday. Glögg is a mkind of wine. It has a really really strong and sweet flavour, so I don't really like it. Did try a whinkey-glögg that was nice though!
Most of the day was spent cleaning and buying christmas decoration. All of the night we drank glögg and julmust. Julmust is like coke, but tastes SOOOO much better. And is only sold in december (bohoo!).
Now it's lovely Monday again. The dreaded first day of the week. We're having an all day-lecture today with Liz Sivell from Profero London. But more about that later. In the other blog!
Weekend fun.
This weekend was so much fun! On friday me and my roomie spontaneosly started sewing in the kitchen. Later in the evening she went out, I was too tired and went to bed. Saturday I got up early (at least 10 is early for me on a weekend) and manically started cleaning the flat. It felt soooo good when I was done, nice and clean. I really don't clean often enough... should, but too stressed to manage.

Anyhow, in the afternoon a few friends came over and we played board games. And My made some wonderful warm autumny drinks!
We split up with the thought to join later on at Rocks, but I never got there. I was invited by Björn to come with him to a party and it was so much fun we spent almost all the night there. Wore a really pretty skirt from Beyond retro over a American apparel dress. With lace stockings. Will se if I can get a photo of it. My eye make up was soft in subtle tones of silver and gold (MAC mineralize family silver and pigment old gold). When we got home I was too tired to even remove my make up. Woke up on sunday, fantastically hung over, and way late. I was supposed to meet up with Nea, go and do some fabric shopping and then install some extensions in her hair.
My sister joined us and as I braided dreads in Neas hair we played Spand the monkey. It's a hilrious card game, everyone should try it!

I also bleached my hair, it grows so fast now! Almost two centimeters in a month! Normaly hair grows 1cm a month so I feel very lucky. Also bleached Björns hair. We'll dye it orange with Special Effects hi octane orange or napalm orange later this week. It'll be so cool!
PS, if anyone want me to I could post some older pics of different make ups and maybe a tutorial or two.?
Let me know, because I have loads of old pics to post!
